My name is Phokane Princess, and I come from Burgersfort, Mabocha. This is where my heart is, where I grew up, and where my story truly began. Today I am also based at the University of Limpopo, Gate 1, while I study and run Princess M Crown Beauty.

I am the founder of Princess M Crown Beauty, and this business is more than just work to me. It is the gift I discovered as a child, grown into something I can share with the whole community.

I have been braiding hair since I was very young. It started simply — just a hobby, something I loved doing with my hands, practising on family, my sister's twin. I didn't have fancy tools or training back then. I just had a love for it, a natural feel for it, and the joy of seeing someone happy when I was done.

What began as a little girl playing with hair grew into a passion that never left me.

Walking Two Paths

Today, I am a tertiary student, walking two paths at once — working hard at my studies while building the business I dreamed of as that young girl.

Balancing education and entrepreneurship is not always easy. There are days when time feels tight and responsibilities pile up. But I have never wanted to choose between growing my mind and growing my gift.

Both take patience, dedication, and the willingness to keep going, and both are part of who I am.

Why Princess M Crown Beauty?

I named my business Princess M Crown Beauty because our hair is our crown, and every person who sits in my chair deserves to feel like royalty.

That little girl who braided hair just for fun now runs a business where every style is done with care, every client is treated with respect, and every visit feels like coming home.

I speak Sepedi with my people, I understand our hair and our ways, and this business is built for us, right here where I grew up.

Growing Through the Challenges

Running this business has taught me so much.

There have been challenges — days when supplies are hard to get, when money is tight, or when I wonder if I can keep going.

But then I see a client walk out with a bright smile, standing taller, feeling beautiful, and I remember exactly why I started.

I am not just doing hair. I am building confidence, one braid at a time.

I am proving that where you come from does not limit where you can go — that a hobby from childhood can grow into a legacy.

Growing Beyond Hair

In 2025, I was so excited to expand what we offer at Princess M Crown Beauty — bringing you beautiful, detailed nail services and stunning lash applications to complete your look from head to toe.

These new additions have been such a wonderful journey, and they're only the beginning.

As we grow and learn together, I look forward to introducing even more fresh, beautiful services in the future — always listening to what you love, always growing with you, and always making sure there's something special here for every one of you.

The Dream

My dream is to keep growing Princess M Crown Beauty, to open our own proper salon one day, and to give other young people from our community the chance to learn skills and build something of their own too.

I want every young person watching to know — your gift is real, your story matters, and you don't have to wait to start.

Start where you are, use what you have, and keep going — just like I did.

From a little girl braiding hair in Mabocha to building a business we can all be proud of — this is only the beginning.

This is more than hair, nails and lashes. This is our story. This is Princess M Crown Beauty.
