From Words to Action: Bontle-Barona Spa Invites HustleCenter to Experience the Customer Side
Sometimes a connection with a local business doesn't end with words.
After HustleCenter's interaction with Bontle-Barona Spa and Manufacturing, Mama Sibongile Sithole-Van Der Merwe shared a personal message:
“To God be the Glory Son May Kganya le Lesedi continue to fill HustleCenter's Cup till it overflows nonstop ”
For us, this wasn't simply a message of blessings.
It was a blessing in action.
Because Mama Sibongile didn't stop at the words. She sent HustleCenter a booking confirmation to experience Bontle-Barona Spa and Manufacturing as a customer.
The Booking
- Date: 3 October 2026 at 10:30 AM
- Pamper: Free Facial & Foot Scrub Pamper

This is the first time a business HustleCenter has featured has invited us to experience what they do from the customer side.
It means HustleCenter now gets to step away from simply sharing information about a local business, and experience the customer side for ourselves. To see what the experience is like, how the service is delivered, and what it feels like to walk through the customer's journey.
And importantly — this isn't a review yet.
The experience hasn't happened.
We'll go, experience it for ourselves, and then share what actually happened. Honestly, and based on that experience.
From a blessing in words to an invitation in action, this is a local connection that started with simply opening the door.
To God be the Glory.

Chef Refiloe Ramphele Nominated in Three Categories at the Polokwane Star Awards 2026
Chef Refiloe Ramphele, founder of Delicacy Agency Hospitality Group has been nominated in three categories at the Polokwane Star Awards 2026, Best Traditional Food, Best Chef, and Best Manager. He built the group around a simple idea — that clients should not have to juggle ten different providers to host one event. Catering, spit braais, bar services and staffing all sit under one management team.

A Look Inside Chef Refiloe's Journey
What does being nominated in these three categories mean to you?
Being nominated in these three categories means a great deal to me. It is a reflection of the effort, dedication and consistency that I have put into my work over the years, and it is truly humbling to see those efforts being recognised.
It is a privilege to be amongst some of the establishments and brands that continue to shape the hospitality industry in Polokwane. To be recognised alongside them gives me a great sense of pride and motivates me to continue raising the standard of what we offer as Delicacy Agency Hospitality Group.
Tell us about your journey as a chef.
My journey as a chef started when I was given an opportunity to work alongside Chef KR, Karabo Mogashoa. We started from his home garage, making burgers, and that experience introduced me to the fundamentals of working in a professional kitchen.
It was there that I learned my basic culinary techniques, discipline and the importance of consistency. From that foundation, I went on to study Hospitality and Culinary Arts, further developing my skills and understanding of the industry.
My journey has continued to grow through catering, private chef services, spit braais and collaborations with different people and businesses in the hospitality space.
What inspired you to start Delicacy Agency Hospitality Group?
The inspiration behind Delicacy Agency Hospitality Group came from the different collaborations and hospitality services I was already doing as a chef.
I realised that clients often have to deal with multiple service providers when planning an event — one for catering, another for décor, another for sound, another for bar services and so on. I wanted to create a solution where clients could access multiple event and hospitality services through one reliable company.
That is how the concept of Delicacy Agency Hospitality Group was born: bringing together hospitality and event-related services under one roof, with one efficient management team. Our goal is to make event planning easier, more convenient and less stressful for our clients.
What would you like people to know about Delicacy Agency Hospitality Group?
I would like people to know that Delicacy Agency Hospitality Group is committed to providing high-quality, luxury hospitality services.
We believe in collaboration, professionalism, creativity and consistency. From intimate private dining experiences to large-scale events, we aim to deliver services that leave a lasting impression.
We are proud to be a growing hospitality company in Limpopo and our ambition is to continue positioning Delicacy as one of the leading names in catering and hospitality in the province.

A Look Inside Her Journey
What does this nomination mean to you?
It means everything to me, because it clearly shows that I'm doing a great job — which is healing.
What first got you into spa and beauty work, and how did you end up at Marlot Spa?
It was back in 2021, when I couldn't make it into college. My father advised me to try something rather than just stay at home, so I enrolled at Tshedimošano Beauty Academy in Polokwane. That's me — five years later, still in the industry.
Earlier this year I got a call from a friend saying Marlot was looking for a therapist. I said, "Say no more, I'll be there." My interview was on 9 February. I passed, and I started on 10 February — and on the 11th it was my birthday. I took that as a blessing. I've been there ever since.
What's one thing you want people in Polokwane to know about your business?
People should consider doing massage more often, because it does a lot for the human body. I always tell my clients: "You don't have stress or depression — you only need my hands."
Do you have anything happening you'd like the community to know about?
We have specials every day, for everyone. We're also introducing body exfoliation and body scrub — very nice.

A Look Inside Her Journey
What does this nomination mean to you?
This nomination has brought so much gratitude. It is a sign of breaking the barriers that say beauty with value can't be found in rural villages.
I have been in the industry since 2013, and this is my first recognition ever. Patience, Perseverance, Continuous Entrepreneurial Learning and Determination are the reasons that pushed me not to give up.
What first got you into spa/beauty work, and how did Bontle-Barona start?
Self-love and good looks have always been my first love. That is what led me into the beauty industry and eventually into building Bontle-Barona Spa and Manufacturing.
I completed my Beauty & Cosmetology Therapy Diploma at Beauty Palace Academy in Johannesburg in 2015, then upgraded to a Beauty Nail & Entrepreneurship World Wide Diploma with SheMillionaire Wealth Building Academy in Polokwane in 2025, then relocated to Mamotintane Village. I also completed the Heavy Chef & FNB Financial Management Cohort in Mankweng between May and July 2026.
What's one thing you want people in Polokwane to know about your business?
I would love them to know that sharing beauty skills with the ones who are passionate about it is part of what we do. Anyone who wants to learn can come to us for training at very Botho Pele charges, because we prioritise development among our surrounding communities.
Do you have anything happening you'd like the community to know about?
New services include Dermaplaning, HydraFacial, Waxing, Tinting, Aromatherapy Massages, and Deep Cleansing Pedicures.
We also offer short courses and workshops at reasonable prices, to stop the youth from doing nothing after Grade 10, Grade 11 and Grade 12 because of the high prices out there in the Beauty Therapy industry.
We have also brought two new team members on board from the village — one self-taught nail and eyelash technician, and one massage therapist. I will be personally training them and working with them as full-time employees.
We are currently busy with renovations and a launch on 1 October 2026. You will definitely get fresh images and short clips of the services.

It's been an amazing 9 years of self-employment and empowering other young women.

A Look Inside Her Journey
What does this nomination mean to you?
This nomination for a star or industry award as a beauty therapist means my hard work, technical skill and dedication to client care are officially recognized and valued.
What first got you into spa/beauty work, and how did Pop of Colour start?
My entry into the beauty world wasn't born out of a lifelong obsession with makeup and nails. It was born out of resilience. After completing matric, my primary goal was to study Internal Auditing. When that door closed, I pivoted to my second choice, Cosmetology, despite having zero personal interest or knowledge of the field. What started as a fallback plan quickly turned into a revelation. As I progressed through the course, a genuine curiosity and passion were sparked. I discovered a whole new world that I didn't even know existed, proving that sometimes the path we don't choose is the one we were always meant to walk.
In my final year of studying, I was presented with a life-changing recruitment opportunity with a British company to work abroad on luxury cruise liners. Before hitting the seas, I further underwent advanced training in London to master my chosen specialty: Nail Technology. From there I traveled the world onboard international liners, including Royal Caribbean International. While working overseas, a deeper dream began to take shape. I realized that I wanted to bring that same international luxury standard experience back home to Polokwane.
Pop of Colour was born out of a distinct vision to introduce better, premium products, professional services, superior client care and client education — explaining the benefits of different treatments. I started with no knowledge, built a global career, and came back home to raise the bar for client care. From a rejected auditing application to a celebrated beauty entrepreneur.
What's one thing you want people in Polokwane to know about your business?
I am here to elevate local beauty standards.
Do you have anything happening you'd like the community to know about?

Madona The Carpenter — Custom Woodwork from Gamakgoba
Donald Nduo runs Madona The Carpenter, a carpentry business based in Gamakgoba outside Polokwane, along the R81. He started the business in 2019 with nothing — not even a hammer.
How it started
I started doing carpentry in 2019. That was when we were under the saga of COVID-19. It was not easy for me to start and to make it what it is now. Mind you, I started with nothing — I mean, I didn't even have a hammer at the time. But because I really wanted to make it work, I had to make sure I found a way. This far, the business is pushing. As we all know, business has its ups and downs. I can say it is doing so good.

Word on the Street: How to Check If a Job Advertisement Is Legit
Finding a job takes time and effort. Unfortunately, scammers can take advantage of people who are actively looking for work by posting fake vacancies, promising unrealistic salaries or asking applicants for money and personal information.
Before you apply for a job or send your CV, take a few minutes to check whether the opportunity is genuine.
Red Flags to Watch Out For
They ask you for money
Be very cautious if someone claiming to be a recruiter asks you to pay money to secure a job, interview or employment opportunity.
Requests for payments for things such as "registration", "training", "uniforms", "background checks" or other employment-related requirements should be independently verified before you proceed.
Never pay simply because someone promises you a job.
The salary sounds unrealistic
An advertisement promising an unusually high salary for simple entry-level work, especially with no experience required, deserves extra scrutiny.
Compare the advertised position and salary with similar legitimate vacancies and investigate the company before providing personal information.
Everything happens through WhatsApp
WhatsApp can be legitimately used by businesses for communication, but a recruiter contacting you from an unfamiliar number and handling the entire recruitment process through WhatsApp should be treated carefully.
Look for an independently verifiable company, official contact details and a legitimate recruitment process.
The email address doesn't match the company
Check the email address carefully.
For example, a recruiter claiming to represent a company but using a generic address such as companyhiring101@gmail.com rather than an official company domain should prompt further verification.
A professional-looking email address alone does not prove that an opportunity is genuine.
How to Verify a Job Advertisement
1. Search for the company
Look up the company independently.
Search the business name together with terms such as "scam", "fraud", "reviews" or "jobs".
Check whether the company has a legitimate online presence and independently verifiable contact information.
2. Contact the company using official details
Don't rely solely on the telephone number or email address contained in a suspicious advertisement.
Find the company's official contact details independently and ask whether the advertised position actually exists.
For example: "Are you currently recruiting for this position?"
3. Check the official careers page
If a large company, retailer, bank or other organisation is advertising vacancies, check its official website and careers/recruitment channels.
If you cannot find the advertised position anywhere through the organisation's legitimate channels, investigate further before applying.
Be Careful With Your Personal Information
During the early stages of a job application, think carefully about what information you are providing and who you are providing it to.
Be particularly cautious about requests for:
- Banking passwords, PINs or online-banking login details
- One-time passwords (OTPs)
- Digital signatures
- Copies of identity documents or passports
- Sensitive financial information
- Detailed residential information when it isn't necessary
A legitimate recruitment process may eventually require certain personal documents or information. The important question is who is requesting it, why they need it, and whether you have independently verified the organisation.
Stop and Verify
If something doesn't feel right, don't let pressure from a recruiter make the decision for you.
Take a step back.
Verify the company. Verify the vacancy. Verify who you are communicating with.
And remember: being offered a job should not require you to ignore obvious warning signs.
HustleCenter Note: This article provides general information to help community members make safer decisions when responding to job advertisements. HustleCenter is not a recruiter, employment agency or legal adviser, and we do not independently verify every vacancy mentioned or encountered by community members.
Always verify a job opportunity directly with the relevant organisation before providing sensitive information or making any payment.
If you come across a suspicious job advertisement, don't just forward it — take a moment to verify it first.

Word on the Street: How to Protect Yourself When Buying From or Hiring Someone Online
Community marketplaces like HustleCenter are amazing for supporting local businesses, but online safety requires teamwork. Whether you're buying a handmade couch, hiring a plumber, or booking a photographer, follow these safety steps to protect your hard-earned cash.
Practical Checks Before Paying Money
- Never pay 100% upfront. For physical goods, try to pay on delivery once you've inspected the item. For services (like carpentry or building), it's normal to pay a small deposit for materials, but never pay the full amount until the job is completed to your satisfaction.
- Verify their previous work. Ask the service provider for references or photos of their past projects, and ask how long they've been active in the community — a track record you can check is worth more than a promise.
- Meet in a safe, public place. If you're meeting a seller to exchange cash for a product, choose a busy, public location — like the parking lot of a local shopping mall or outside a police station. Never meet in isolated areas.
Protecting Your Sensitive Information
- Keep communication on record. Keep your chat history on WhatsApp rather than doing business entirely over unrecorded phone calls. If an agreement is reached, text them a summary (e.g. "Just to confirm, I will pay a 30% deposit of R500 via EFT today, and the remaining R1000 upon delivery on Friday").
- Beware of fake SMS alerts. If you're the one selling an item, never hand it over based on an SMS notification that says you've received money. Always log directly into your banking app to verify the funds are actually in your available balance.
- Use secure payment methods. Stick to official bank EFTs, cash on delivery, or trusted local digital wallets. Never accept data, airtime, or retail vouchers as payment for a service.

Introducing HustleCenter Stories
Every connection starts with trust.
We’ve been sharing updates, opportunities and information through HustleCenter. Now we’re opening another part of the platform — HustleCenter Stories.
Stories is a place to discover the people, skills, businesses, experiences and opportunities that are part of our community.
Sometimes there is more to discover than a business name or a service.
There is a person behind the business.
There is a journey behind the work.
There are experiences that others can learn from.
There are skills, ideas and advice that may be useful to someone else.
That is what we want Stories to make room for.
What you can expect
Stories may feature local entrepreneurs, skilled people, businesses and other members of the community.
A Story might be about:
- How someone started
- What they do
- Challenges they have experienced
- What they have learned
- Advice they want to share
- Skills or knowledge they have
- A business or service they want people to discover
- An opportunity that may be useful to others
We don’t want every Story to look the same. The people and experiences in our community are different, so their Stories should be too.
Stories are about people, not just promotion
HustleCenter Stories is not intended to be another place for advertisements.
We want to give people an opportunity to tell us about what they are doing, what they have experienced and what they believe could be useful to others.
A business may be part of a Story, but the person and their journey can be just as important.
Shared with permission
Stories are created using information shared by the person or business being featured.
We seek permission before publishing a Story and before publishing photographs, contact details or other personal information provided for the Story.
HustleCenter reviews content before publication to make sure it is appropriate for the website and consistent with our publishing approach.
That review does not mean that HustleCenter verifies, audits, guarantees or endorses the person, business, service, qualification or claim described in a Story.
As always, we encourage everyone to ask questions and make informed decisions when making connections.
And now, you can share them
Stories are designed to be easy to share.
Each Story can have its own page, making it possible to share a particular person’s story rather than simply sending someone to the HustleCenter homepage.
You will be able to share a Story through WhatsApp and other supported apps, or copy its link to share it wherever you want.
We think this matters because a useful story shouldn’t have to stay in one place.
Our first Story
We’re starting with a Story from Polokwane.
Our first featured Story is about Sparkle GROUP – From Chaos to Sparkle , a young business working across cleaning and placement services.
The Story will be published separately on the new Stories page.
This is only the beginning.
As HustleCenter grows, we hope to discover more people, more experiences, more skills and more of what makes our community what it is.
If you have a Story worth sharing, contact us at:

A More Connected Offline Experience
HustleCenter is designed to remain useful even when your internet connection isn't always available.
HustleCenter's core pages are made available on your device when you first visit, so you can continue browsing them even without an internet connection. When you're online, the site can update those pages so that the offline version reflects the latest version available to your device.
If you go offline, HustleCenter can let you know that your connection is unavailable. When your connection returns, it can let you know that you're back online.
If you try to open something that isn't available offline, HustleCenter will take you back to the homepage rather than leaving you with a broken page.
Coming Soon: Word on the Street
We're also testing a new way to share something worth knowing.
Word on the Street will make it easier to share HustleCenter content through WhatsApp, other supported apps, or by copying a link.
We're still testing the experience before making it available.
If you notice anything unusual with the offline experience, we'd love to hear from you at help@hustlecenter.co.za.

Introducing HustleCenter Stories
At HustleCenter, we believe every connection starts with trust.
We also believe that the people, skills, businesses, experiences and opportunities in our communities are worth discovering.
We're creating HustleCenter Stories as a place where people can share their experiences, knowledge, advice, ideas, journeys and opportunities with others.
Stories may feature entrepreneurs, skilled people, businesses and other members of the community. They can be about what someone does, how they started, what they've learned, challenges they've experienced, advice they want to share, or opportunities that may be useful to others.
How Stories Work
Shared With Permission
Stories are created using information provided by the person or business being featured. We
seek their permission before publishing their story, photographs, contact details or other
personal information.
Our Review Process
HustleCenter reviews submitted content before publication to make sure it is appropriate for
the website and consistent with our publishing standards.
This review does not mean that HustleCenter verifies, audits or officially endorses the
person, business, service quality, qualifications or legal status described in a story.
Sharing Knowledge and Experiences
Stories are an opportunity for people to share what they know and what they have
experienced. Advice, opinions and experiences shared by contributors reflect their own views
and experiences and should not automatically be treated as professional, legal, financial or
other expert advice.
Making Connections
Where a person or business chooses to share contact information publicly, visitors may use
those details to contact them directly.
As with any connection made online or in person, we encourage everyone to use appropriate
caution, ask questions and make informed decisions before doing business.
Want to Share Your Story?
If you're a local entrepreneur, business owner, skilled professional or community member in
the Polokwane area and would like to share your story, experience, knowledge, advice or an
opportunity with others, contact us at:
Email: help@hustlecenter.co.za
WhatsApp: Chat on WhatsApp
Call: +27 69 476 6367
There is currently no charge to share a story.
