From Chaos to Sparkle: A Young Polokwane Entrepreneur Building a Business Around Trust
Every business starts somewhere.
For one young entrepreneur in Polokwane, Sparkle GROUP started with something he could see around him: families dealing with the aftermath of important events, while others struggled to find household workers they could trust.
His response was to build a business around two services under one brand:
Sparkle Cleaning and Sparkle Placements.
The idea is captured in the business's tagline:
“From Chaos to Sparkle ”
Two services. One brand.
Sparkle Cleaning provides cleaning services for homes, businesses and events.
According to the founder, the service covers everything from smaller cleaning jobs to larger clean-ups following funerals, weddings, festivals and overnight events.
Services include:
- Residential cleaning
- Commercial cleaning
- Deep cleaning
- After-event cleaning
- After-funeral cleaning
- After-festival cleaning
- After-wedding cleaning
- Dish washing
- Yard sweeping
- Mopping floors
- Toilet and kitchen deep cleaning
- Packing chairs and tents
The business says its cleaning services start from R400 for smaller jobs such as dishes, from R900 for after-event cleaning, and from R2,500 for weddings, depending on the work involved.
Sparkle GROUP serves Polokwane, Seshego, Bendor, Flora Park, Mankweng, Turf and Ladanna, according to the founder.
The other side of Sparkle GROUP
Through Sparkle Placements, the business connects families and employers with domestic workers, nannies, caregivers, gardeners and office staff.
For the founder, this side of the business is particularly connected to the question of trust.
He says his placement process involves checking a South African ID, contacting and verifying two previous employer references, conducting a face-to-face interview and confirming where the prospective worker stays.
His principle is straightforward:
No ID and no verified references, no placement.
The founder says this approach comes from understanding concerns on both sides.
Employers may be worried about bringing someone new into their home.
Workers, meanwhile, may worry about whether they will be treated fairly or paid.
His goal is to create a more careful connection between the two.
A placement model built around a guarantee
Sparkle GROUP says its domestic placement service uses a once-off R1,200 placement fee rather than a monthly agency fee.
The founder says he chose this model because he believes many families in Polokwane may struggle with ongoing agency costs.
The business also offers what the founder describes as a three-month free replacement guarantee.
If a placed helper leaves or the placement does not work out within the first three months, he says the worker will be replaced without another placement fee.
He also says he personally checks in and aims to provide a replacement within 48 hours when a suitable vetted worker is available.
For him, the idea is simple:
Build trust, rather than debt.
Job seekers don't pay to register
Another part of the model is aimed at people looking for work.
Sparkle GROUP says registration for job seekers is free.
Domestic workers, nannies, childminders, caregivers and gardeners can contact the business on WhatsApp and send:
- REGISTER
- Full name
- Area
- ID copy
- Two references
The founder says applicants are added to the business's database and contacted when a suitable opportunity becomes available.
From seeing a problem to building a solution
The founder says he started Sparkle GROUP after noticing two problems in Polokwane.
After funerals, weddings, festivals and other major events, families can be left with dishes, dirty toilets, kitchens, tents and other work that needs to be dealt with.
At the same time, families looking for domestic workers and caregivers can find it difficult to know who they can trust.
Rather than choosing only one problem to solve, he built services around both.
That is what makes Sparkle GROUP different from simply being a cleaning business or a placement service.
It is an attempt to address two everyday needs through one local brand.
“You took the chaos away”
One particular experience has stayed with the founder.
He recalls helping a family in Bendor after a funeral. According to him, the team arrived at 5am and cleaned the home while the family was dealing with their loss.
The family later told him:
“You took the chaos away when we were grieving.”
For the founder, that moment represents what he wants Sparkle GROUP to stand for.
Sometimes people don't need a complicated solution.
They simply need someone to show up and help.
Advice for other young entrepreneurs
The founder is also passionate about encouraging other young people to build businesses.
His advice is simple:
Start with what you have.
He believes young entrepreneurs should take compliance seriously, properly vet people, avoid charging job seekers for access to work opportunities and treat customers' homes with respect.
He also emphasises professionalism: showing up on time, wearing a uniform, being respectful and doing the work properly.
His message to other young people in Limpopo is particularly direct:
“Limpopo needs trusted youth businesses, not quick money.”
For him, entrepreneurship is not just about finding a way to make money.
It is about identifying a real problem and becoming part of the solution.
Building from Polokwane
The founder describes himself as a young, Polokwane-based entrepreneur, youth-owned business owner and NYS Graduate.
He also provided HustleCenter with his POPIA registration number: 2026-065615, and asked that it be included in his Story.
Sparkle GROUP's promotional material describes the business as “100% compliant.” HustleCenter has included this information as provided by the business and has not independently audited or verified that claim.
For the founder, however, the bigger message is about what young people can build when they take local problems seriously.
We are not alone in this hustle.
And perhaps that is the real story behind Sparkle GROUP.
A young entrepreneur saw chaos around him and decided to build something that could help turn it into something better.
